Sister
Lucy Tarte
Lucy (He/They), Lucille if you’re nasty, is originally from the Great Lakes where she pursued Fashion Design and Fiber Arts. With her partner Randi she became an Iowa transplant when moving for a new career chapter with walking children in nature.
During their first year the Tartes wanted to meet more of the local community and find a way to get involved. A chance encounter at the Garden led to the introduction with her future beloved Mother – Ada Boufeit. That night the fledgling Priory showed the future Tartes around the village and introduced them to their new community. The level of hospitality shown convinced Lucy and Randi to join the SPI and help build the Priory.
Lucy is inspired by fashion, her Wiccan faith, and those that live between the veil of normalcy and authenticity. She looks forward to sewing together the community like she does her own garments. She plans to help tailor every event the Priory creates or visits to ensure everyone fits. Her personal ministry is helping others reconcile faith, authenticity, and sexuality so they may live with spiritual freedom, offering compassionate healing while challenging spiritual shame, exclusion, and religious oppression. She believes the Goddess and God gave us hearts, minds, and empathy for a reason—and that modern people deserve modern compassion, not ancient prejudices dressed up as eternal truth.
If you're ever in need of a cuddly hug, a safe place to vent, a tarot or palm reading, someone to laugh with in Democratic Socialist, or a bit of sewing and crafting advice, seek out this goofy Pisces.
